Vidhya Matriculation higher sec school, Jalladampet, Chennai – 100 hosted the “Heyday” - a day to learn and explore the known & unknown aspects of subject knowledge at deeper level. The event ensured the participation of each and every student in exhibiting the hidden talents. The students showcased their academic skills as well as their talents in music, dance, drama, yoga, art and games. It was an interactive session with a scope for learning and propagating knowledge which covered every subject. The onlookers were awestruck at the display of projects and were so eager to interact with the students who exuded confidence while explaining about their projects and activities that were in display.

FOOD FESTIVAL
“LET FOOD BY
THY MEDICINE AND MEDICINE BE THY FOOD!”

Jalladampet Chennai -100, We celebrated World Food Day with the theme “Iyarkkai
Unavu Thiruvizha” in our school with a view to bring back the almost forgotten
traditional recipes of ours. The students of V standard had brought in
traditional home-made recipes like varieties of Sundal, Keerai vadai, Kambukhoozh, Thinai urundai , Kuzhipaniyaram,
Ragi Adai,
Arisi puttu, Raagi puttu, Arugambul saaru and so on. It was a treat not only to
the eyes and taste buds but to our thoughts as well!

TEACHERS DAY
“A good
teacher is a doctor who heals ignorance and an artist who inspires creativity!”
Teachers Day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm at
Vidhya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Jalladampet. The day began with a
prayer song and welcome note. The students of the middle school offered a
special song while the Primary students presented a “Song for guru”. The
Pre-primary students performed a cute dance as a “Token of love” and the higher
secondary students made their “Dedications to teachers”. The teachers took
their promise and a huge cake was cut. Finally, the Special Guest, the former
Senior Principal Mr.P.Shanmugam delivered a wonderful note and the
Correspondent Mr.A.Vidhyasagar addressed the gathering.

33rd Annual Sports Meet
33rd Annual Sports Meet
The 33rd Annual Sports Meet was conducted by Vidhya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Jalladampet with flamboyant spirit at Quaid –E- Milleth college grounds, Medavakkam. The event was presided over by Mr.V.R.Ghajandrakumar, Additional Superintendent of Police, Chennai.
The event commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief Guest and the school flag by their founder – Chairman MJF.Lion.T.Azhgapparaju followed by March Past and Torch Relay. The chief guest declared the meet open and addressed the gathering.
The Mass Drill and Pom Pom Drill were spectacular displays. There were action packed demonstrations in Karate & Silambam and a holistic demonstration of Yoga. The students exhibited different variations in a pyramid form which left the onlookers awestruck. Last but not the least the “Tiny Trots” was an adorable event that showcased the hidden talents in the little ones.

“The Missile Man” - Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam
“If you want
to shine like a Sun first burn like a Sun!”
The students and staff members of Vidhya MHSS, Jalladampet
paid tribute to “The Missile Man” by conducting a special assembly on 27/7/17.
Speech in English and Tamil were delivered by students and teachers to
commemorate the life and works of the great legend. They
had also designed a 40 feet long and 20 feet wide colourful image of Dr. Abdul
Kalam with rock salt.

INTERACTIVE SESSION
The management of Vidhya Matric. H.Sec. School, Jalladampet
had offered their faculty members an interactive session and workshop by Ms
Rita Odumosu of United Kingdom. The workshop focused on the different learning
disabilities amongst the students. Within
the UK and international arena, Rita has extensive expertise of education
leadership, management and policy and a reputation for high quality project
work, consultancy and innovation. Rita considers the CCL work vital to global
development and welcomes challenges and opportunities to use her skills as a
Trustee of the Education Fund.
