Mariappan Thangavel

“Good sportsman inspires themselves; great sportsmen inspire others!”  To elevate our student’s passion for sports, we had amidst Mr.Mariappan Thangavelu, India’s First Gold Medalist high jumper in paralympics.

In an interactive session, he shared with our students his inspiration & dedication, his ambition and achievements his hard work and his talents.  His tag lines “everything possible” & “CAN DO” attitude are exceptional. His revelation about his role model and dedication of his success were astonishing

Children’s Day Celebration

   “Children are the hands by which we take hold of heaven”

Children’s Day was celebrated with gaiety and fervor at our school on Monday. It was a “FUNDAY” rather than a Monday for the students. The uniqueness of the programme was that every student participated in an event.

The array of events ensured participation from students of Kinder Garden to XII Standard. Students were swept with delight to participate in Flameless Cooking, Face Painting, Pencil Shading, and Best Out of waste and so on.

Eco-friendly Diwali Celebration!!!

      “Diwali is a festival that signifies the triumph of light over darkness”. With a view to forfeit the darkness of our negative emotions and to ensure a pollution free fete, we opted for Eco-friendly Diwali celebrations in our school.
Traditional Diyas were lighted and the floors were decorated with colorful rangolies. Students of XI Standard convened the fete and overall it was fun, frolic & pollution free!

ASTRO CLUB INAUGURATION

In a grandeur the  “ ASTRO CLUB – RISE “ was inaugurated in our school today by Dr. P.shanmugham, Principal Scientist of ISRO.  We have launched a couple of advanced  “ NEWTONIAN TELESCOPES “ in our premises as an embarkation of our world view. 

ASSEMBLY VISIT

                International Youth Day

All the energy and strength combined, the students of Vidhya Mat.Hr.Sec.School, Jalladampet, Chennai -100, with youthful sprites framed the programs for the world youth day. We opted to a more Indian style of celebrating the International Youth Day. In a splendid fete, a 30 feet long picture of the great Indian Youth Icon Swami Vivekananda was decorated with flowers within a span of 4 hours which made the onlookers awestruck.

Yellow Colour Day

To create awareness on the wonders of colours, Yellow Day was celebrated at Vidhya Matriculation Higher Secondary School Jalladampet Chennai 100.

              The primary block was glowing with yellow color the entire day as the students and teachers of all KG sections were dressed in yellow color.  The walls and boards were adorned with yellow charts. The tiny tots enjoyed and learnt a lot by this activity.  

 Kamarajar Birth Day Celebration

To commemorate the 114^th Birthday of kalvi Thanthai Thiru Kamarajar, Vidhya Matriculation Higher Secondary School Jalladampet , Chennai -100 , conducted Essay , Poetry, Writing ,and Drawing competitions on 16-07-2016. A video on the life history of kamarajar was played for the students.

                                            World music day

                              “Where words fail, music speaks!”

The world music day was celebrated on 21 June 2016 across the world while Vidhya Matriculation Higher Secondary School jalladampet Chennai -100 reverberated with musical notes. The celebrations happened in the morning with much energy and enthusiasm presided over by the corresponded. One of the students gave a speech about music in Tamil which was followed by a splendid performance by the choir. The event came to a conclusion with an enthralling performance by the school Band troop. 

   

FATHER’S DAY:

Dad – A son’s first hero; A daughter’s first love;

Vidhya Matriculation Higher Secondary School Jalladampet Chennai -100 celebrated father’s day on 20/06/2016.  The students honored their dad by making a “MY SUPER HERO DAD” Template by filling in interesting information about their father.  The students of primary made colorful ties and wrote captions and gifted to their dad.

               Mr.  V. NANDAKUMAR, I R S., visited Vidhya Mat.Hr.Sec.School, Jalladampet for the edition 2” LIVE YOUR DREAM, REACH FOR THE SKY”.

He acknowledged himself as a school dropout which is unbelievable by the entire crowd since he is an all India topper in the UPSC Examination.  He holds the attention of a more than 1000 students with his extemporary talk. He insisted anything is possible in this world but, it requires a lot of determination, concentration, training, hardwork and a dream to achieve what you want. He added, “If you think you are solid, boil yourself, so that you will become lighter and can reach the higher level”. He motivated the students to apply their learning in real life. His speech made each and every one of us to think bigger and gave a strong confidence to excel in their life.

      
                                     COSMONAUT VISIT
                               
                       "LIVE YOUR DREAM, REACH THE SKY"

     Initiative Russian Cosmonaut SALIZHAN SHARIPOV visited our school for the 1st edition.  Salizhan Sharipov is a co-author and investigator for the Advanced Diagnostic ultra sound in micro gravity project. He has been to space twice and has conducted two space walks and logged over 200 days in space. He was a pilot-cosmonaut of the Russian federation (1988) His presence made the entire gallery to stand on toes and shout with happiness. He had an interactive session with the students and shared his experience in space and motivated the Students in space research. Mr. A.Vidhyasagar the correspondent feliciated him with a heartfelt happiness in a traditional way by giving poornakumbham.Students were truly elated to see a world famous personality into the campus which gave the feel that we are reaching out of the sky….

                                                      TRIBUTE TO TAMIL

As a tribute to Tamil language, Vidhya.Mat.Hr .Sec School, Jalladampet, Chennai-100, celebrated their Annual Day as Tamil Thiruvizha “VAAGAI VAIYA THALAMAI KOL” in Kamarajar Arangam portraying all the significance of Tamil language which includes its origin, Tamil Thaai Kovil, Sanga Ellakiya Malargal, 16 Selvangal, Aivagai Nilangal,Thamizhar Vilayaatugal, Kadai Ezhu Vallalgal,Naayan maargal, great poets, Aazhwargal, the display of ancient Musical Instruments and so on. The programme received a great commendation from the audience and an accolade from the chief Guest Pattimandram Speaker Mr.S RAJA to the Correspondent A. VIDHYASAGAR for initiating this type of agenda in this century.

                        CAREER GUIDANCE PROGRAMME

Vidhya Mat. Hr. Sec. School, Jalladampet, Chennai-100, organized a career guidance programme by a popular career guidance counseller of India Mr.Jaya prakash. A. Gandhi with the zeal of service towards the student’s community. The session gave  a complete data analysis of various examinations and the opportunities available in the future. He insisted students to “choose a course with growth and opportunities and work on it”. Around 8 schools, over 400 students and 300 parents attended this valuable session and it’s truly an eye opening programme for the entire crowd.

                                                
                                        IECD

         

Vidhya Matric Hr.Sec School, Jalladampet in collaboration with the Institute for Entrepreneurship and career development (IECD) of the Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirapalli, is conducting a one year course in Computer Science by name SUITS (Students University Industry Tie up Scheme). After completion of the course in the month of April 2015, the first batch of our students was awarded certificates by the Bharathidasan University. Our students master S.Surya of VI std and master S.Abinesh of VI std secured 7^th rank in Tamil Nadu state level examination and aptly honored by our school correspondent Mr.A.Vidhyasagar.

31^st Annual Sports Day 

   

“Work while you work, play while you play” goes an old saying. On 31^stOctober 2015 it was play time for the students of Vidhya Mat.Hr.Sec.school, Jalladampet Medavakkam-100 as their 31^st Annual sports meet was held at Quaid Millat College Ground.  Mr.U.S .RAJAN, The inspector of police  pallikarani, took salute and declared the sports meet open. The event began at 9.00 Am ended 3 pm .There were a number of Track and field event for the students. The Highlights of the meet were a starting parade and a demonstration of Yoga, Karate and silambam by the students of age ranging between 7 and 17. It was a thrilling experience to watch them break a number of bikes and tube lights at a time. The students also formed human pyramids using asanas it was astounding to watch a bike run over the abdomen of a couple of students as a part of the karate demo.
